Valeriana Officinalis
Leaf / Root or Seeds

Valerian Leaf is not commonly used, it is after all, the root that we're after.  BUT, the leaf does offer the same properties as the root in a milder version.  It can be smoked or cooked like greens in soups and other dishes. It also makes a relaxing cup of tea.

* Valerian can interact with alcohol, certain antihistamines, muscle relaxants, psychotropic drugs and narcotics.
Those taking any of these drugs should take valerian only under the supervision of a health care provider.
